Municipal leaders and staff are increasingly navigating complex and, at times, challenging interactions in their roles. Creating environments where individuals feel safe, respected, and heard is essential to effective leadership, collaboration, and community service.


This two-part interactive series builds awareness and practical skills to help prevent and de-escalate challenging behaviours in the workplace. Through real-world scenarios and guided discussion, participants will learn to recognize early signs of escalation, reflect on how communication styles and biases influence interactions, and apply person-centered techniques to respond with confidence, empathy, and professionalism—supporting more psychologically safe and resilient workplaces.
